The Applications And Research Of Chromatic Harmonic Progressions In Music Works

Harmonic progression is an indispensable term often mentioned in the course of harmony theory.In traditional harmony theory,the main consideration of chromatic harmonic progression is that the two chords connected have a certain chromatic relationship.Therefore,in chromatic harmonic progressions,the functions of harmony and each part of the voice don't need to be carefully considered,and the methods of harmonic progression will become very free.To some extent,chromatic harmonic progression is separated from the shackles of keys and harmony functions,it is a kind of harmonic progression with dramatic effect,it highlights the contrast of harmonic color and enriches the emotional expression of music.Chromatic harmonic progressions appeared hundreds of years ago,with the development and perfection of traditional harmony theory,they were gradually valued and widely used in the Romantic period.Although chromatic harmonic progression is a relatively new way of harmonic progression,it was initially used in music works with clear keys,rather than existing independently.With the breaking of the thinking of traditional tonalities and harmony functions,chromatic harmonic progression had been becoming increasingly common,so that it almost became an indispensable part of the pieces in the middle and late Romantic period.After analyzing a large number of music works,the author had analyzed and studied the applications of chromatic harmonic progression,in order to prove that chromatic harmonic progression is not a random method of harmonic progression,and hope that more music learners will understand and use it.
