| Lu Ling is the most representative writer of the "July school",and also one of the most distinctive and controversial writers in the literary world of the 1940 s.With compassion,he paid close attention to the living conditions and soul world of the bottom working people and intellectuals from the 1930 s to the 1940 s.He followed the tradition of Lu Xun to expose the bad habits of the people and tried his best to dig out the spiritual enslavement trauma hidden in the people for thousands of years.Through reading, the author finds that the characters in Lu Ling’s novels often have calamitous destinies and turbulent inner world. They may be trapped in the dilemma with other people or trapped in their own demons, sometimes docile and quiet, sometimes outrageous and manic, which seems to be strange and contradictory, contains a strong sense of tragedy. This paper is intended to take the tragic consciousness of Lu Ling’s forties novels as the topic. In addition to the introduction and conclusion, this paper is divided into three chapters. The preface introduces the development and evolution of tragedy and tragedy consciousness, which leads to the research object of this paper,Lu ling. Then the research status of Lu ling’s novels is sorted out and analyzed. Finally,on the basis of inheritance and innovation, this paper proposes the writing ideas. The first chapter explains the connotation of tragedy consciousness in Lu Ling’s forties novels, mainly from three aspects: the tragedy of ideal, the tragedy of emotion and the tragedy of life.Workers and peasants、intellectuals all experienced the pain of seeking but not getting in Lu Ling’s writings.Their ideals and reality don’t always mesh. And the traditional good feelings can not give people in trouble to support, but with its cruel and abnormal side to push a man into a corner. In the writing of the ultimate direction of life,Lu Ling’s fatalistic arrangement of the characters from madness to death adds more tragic color to human destiny. The second chapter summarizes the characteristics of the tragic images in Lu Ling’s forties novels and analyzes the representative figures of different images.Marginal characters struggle in the morass of survival, such as Guo Sue.Crazy people in the drive of desire to sink into depravation like Jin Suhen. The raiders lost their way in the pursuit, such as Jiang Chunzu. They bear the different writings of Lu Ling on suffering, but they all place the power of the writer to resist suffering. The third chapter probes into the construction of the tragic conflict in Lu Ling’s forties novels.Tragedy is the product of conflict.Lu Ling describes the conflict with the characters’ intense psychology, describes the conflict with the characters’ subjective environment, and intensifies the conflict with the difficult and deformed language. The last part is the value orientation of Lu Ling’s tragedy writing in the forties. The exploration of characters’ soul world and the exploration of people’s resistance are the advantages of Lu Ling as a responsible writer. However, there are some defects and inadequacies. The massive injection of subjective feelings of the writer leads to the distortion of the characters, and the europeanized and obscure language style also adds burden to the readers’ reading.Gain and loss in creation always complement each other. As an explorer,Lu Ling had been looking for the best way to show the social reality and the inner heart of his characters, which has added infinite possibilities to Chinese literature in the 1940 s. |
