The Relationship Between Empathy And Social Anhedonia In College Students

Purposes: social anhedonia is the ability to experience happiness in interpersonal communication.Empathy refers to communicating with others in social interactions,emphasizing the emotions and thoughts of others,and understanding the positions and feelings of others.In the past,the study of the lack of social pleasure was mainly directed at diseases such as schizophrenia,depression and autism,and few involved in the normal population.In clinical studies,it has been found that there is a correlation between social anhedonia and empathy in patients with schizophrenia.Therefore,this paper intends to explore the relationship between the social anhedonia and empathy in college students,and establish the correlation between social anhedonia and the subjective assessment of empathy through the scale measurement method,and further explore the high and low social anhedonia students in the behavioral experiment.Whether a difference in behavioral responses in painful empathy.It provides theoretical basis for subjective evaluation and behavioral response for the study of social pleasure and empathy,and provides guidance for improving college students' social happiness experience and interpersonal communication ability.Method:Study 1 used a questionnaire survey.The research tools included the Interpersonal Reactivity Index-C(IRI-C)and Revised Social Anhedonia Scale Chinese Version(RSAS-C)test 200 subjects and retrieve a valid questionnaire.178 patients,all of whom met the inclusion criteria after screening by the Schizotypal Personality Questionnaire(SPQ)and the Beck Depression Inventory(BDI),participated in a total of178 subjects,including 79 males and 99 females.Study 2 using the behavioral experiment method,the classic pain empathy paradigm was selected.The experimental materials were taken the pain picture library of Southwest University.The pictures used were stimulated with a total of 90 pictures(including 45 pain pictures and 45 non-pain pictures).The experimental design of 2(picture type: pain,non-pain)× 2(group:High Social Anhedonia,Low Social Anhedonia)was used to perform repeated measures analysis of variance for subjective assessment,correct rate and response time.According to the total score of the social pleasure missing questionnaire,the top 27% of the high scores(High Social Anhedonia: HSA)actually participated in the experimental study of 29 people,including 11 males and 18females;The latter 27% low group(Low Social Anhedonia: LSA)actually participated in the experimental study of 31 people,including 13 males and 18 females.Result:Study 1: There was a significant negative correlation between Social Anhedonia and Empathy Concern(EC)(r=-0.379,p<0.01);there was a significant difference between the high and low group of Social Anhedonia in the EC(t = 4.718,p < 0.01).Study 2: Between the high and low group of Social Anhedonia in the subjective assessment scores showed that the main effect of the picture type(F(1,58)=360.38,p<0.01,?2=0.822)was significant,subjective assessment of pain pictures(2.61±0.55)It was significantly higher than the subjective assessment of non-pain pictures(1.31±0.28)(t=18.573,p<0.01);the interaction between the picture type and the subject group was significant(F(1,58)=5.079,p<0.05,?2=0.061),the subjective assessment score for pain pictures was significantly higher(2.46 ± 0.50)than the low group(2.75 ± 0.56)(t =-2.397,p < 0.05),and the subjective assessment of non-pain pictures was high(1.31 ±0.29)and There was no significant difference in low grouping(1.29 ± 0.28)(t = 0.367,p > 0.05).Between the high and low group of Social Anhedonia showed that the main effect of picture type was significant(F(1,58)=92.16,p<0.01,?2=0.542),and the pain picture correct rate(0.76±0.07)was significantly lower than the correct rate.Non-pain picture correct rate(0.87±0.09)(t=-9.594,p<0.01).Between the high and low group of Social Anhedonia showed that than the non-pain picture response(705.21±65.68)(t=9.337,p<0.01);the interaction between the picture type and the subject group was significant(F(1,58)=4.229,p<0.05,?2=0.051),the high grouping(775.71±73.45)was significantly greater than the low group(731.31±63.98)(t= 2.887,p<0.05)when responding to pain pictures;There was no significant difference for non-pain pictures between the high group(717.40±70.68)and the low group(693.62 ± 59.10)(t = 1.635,p > 0.05).Conclusion:There is a negative correlation between the Social Anhedonia and the EC in the IRI-C scale.The higher Social Anhedonia of college students,EC is lower,Social Anhedonia is the worse the pain and empathy of college students.In particular,compared with the low group,the high group of Social Anhedonia college students can identify the pain of others,but the response to the pain picture is long time.The subjective rating of the picture is lower.
