Plato as influential philosopher in ancient Greece,in his representative book Republic,put forward a lot about politics,education,religion,moral thoughts and ideas,has a huge impact on later generations,hence Plato became a basic research on western political reading.Democracy originated from ancient Greece,in his book the Republic,Plato from the ideal state of presupposition,the classification of ancient Greek city-state politics in reality to and determine the quality level,and democratic political system is considered to be relatively poor.Plato described the emergence of the ideal city state and the criticism of democratic system in a large amount of space.Starting from the dilemma of justice,politics and society arising from the emergence of democracy,Plato criticized the extreme freedom of democracy,social diversity and the social disorder and mob rule caused by the lack of good knowledge of citizens.He believed that all these were against the justice of the city and individual justice,under which the depravity of the city and its citizens was inevitable,and would inevitably lead to the emergence of the rule of law.But Plato's thinking about what is good in the criticism of the democratic city-state system,initially wanted by philosopher Kings or rulers of the philosophy of love and wisdom of rule and people can through the guidance of philosophy observe heart order,then introduces the concept of law to build the order of the city of the justice,but no matter what kind of form,Plato's ultimate goal is for good heart.The influence of Plato's democratic political thought on the political thought of Aristotle and the later philosophers is profound and meaningful.Even if it is of great reference significance to contemporary democratic politics,his democratic thought is still worth learning and exploring.This paper is divided into five parts:The introduction gives a detailed introduction to the source of this article and the research on Plato's democratic politics at home and abroad.The second part mainlyintroduces the emergence of democratic political thought in Plato's democratic thought-the theory of justice,the embodiment of the theory of justice in the Republic and the relationship between justice and political system,justice and happiness.The third part focuses on the characteristics of democracy:freedom,equality and diversity.The original connotation of freedom in the republic and the relationship between freedom and desire.The predicament of democracy is mainly discussed from three aspects:justice,politics and society.The fourth part mainly discusses Plato's criticism of democracy.The extreme freedom and democracy of democracy have led to extreme slavery.Citizens lack the knowledge of good and regard indulgent desire as the good of democracy.The fifth part mainly discusses the significance of Plato's criticism of democracy.The second is the practical significance-enlightenment to contemporary democracy.
