At present,China is in the historical stage of transition from a production-oriented society to a consumption-oriented society.In this context,the body,especially the female body,has been brought into the realm of consumption.The body can not only consume some products and services as the subject of consumption,but also be consumed by people as the object of consumption.The body consumption has become an important part of people’s daily life.At the same time,consumption is an activity to meet people’s needs.Body consumption can not only satisfy the low-level physiological needs,but also fulfil the high-level aesthetic needs and self-actualization needs.The body consumption shows the characteristic of "aestheticization".First of all,female body consumption is mainly manifested in two behavioral activities: female body shaping and mass staring at female body.In such activities,the female body through the aesthetic representation of the natural form and external dress,highlights the beauty of a woman’s unique charm,so consumers could get a certain aesthetic experience based on the female body.Secondly,female body consumption is an aesthetic practice activity of consumers based on certain aesthetic concepts.The formation of the aesthetic ideas is the result of the joint action of various social factors.Therefore,the female body consumption presents the characteristics of fashion,visualization,symbolization,homogenization and so on.Furthermore,in the context of consumer culture,the female body is bound by various social factors,such as business,technology,ideas and so on.Body consumption activities also show the tendency of desirability and irrationality.Therefore,consumers,especially women,need to establish subjective concepts of body aesthetics and body consumption,so as to truly achieve the construction of ideal personality.
