Since the Belt and Road Initiative was first put forward,it has attracted the many countries to sign up including Thailand.At the same time,there have been numerous international conferences and meetings related to the Initiative,which has greatly increased the demand for Thai-Chinese interpreters in the translation market.Against this backdrop,this report selects the speech presented by a Thai leader on the Belt and Road Initiative & Thailand-China Business Forum held in Bangkok,Thailand in 2018 to conduct a simulated simultaneous interpreting practice,which aims to study skills used in the field of Thai-Chinese simultaneous interpreting.Based on the Framework of the Interpretative Theory,this report the author analyzes the influence of deverbalization on Thai-Chinese simultaneous interpreting by selecting corresponding cases at both lexical level and long-sentence-level,and summarizes the common strategies of Thai-Chinese simultaneous interpreting.These strategies include the addition,omission,adaption,syntactic linearity,logic reconstructing etc.Through analysis of the mistakes and deficiencies appeared in the simulated practice,this report is expected to provide help and reference for interpreters in Thai-Chinese interpreting field and related fields so as to improve their interpreting quality. |
