Maintaining Collectivity

The collectivity of folk art creation and appreciation is its important characteristic and value connotation as intangible cultural heritage or traditional cultural manifestation.At present,due to our neglect of the collective nature of folk art,there are some difficulties and potential crises in the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage of folk art,but the protection measures are not targeted enough.Therefore,in-depth study and understanding of the collective nature of folk art is an academic subject that should not be avoided in effectively carrying out the practice of intangible cultural heritage protection.The collectivity of folk art is mainly manifested in three aspects:extensive creative subject and appreciation subject,the convergence of form and content of folk art works and the social function of conventions.Collectivity is the result of common people's choices based on common life experience,cognition and common life ideal.This collectivity is the source of creativity of folk art.It endows folk art with the function of harmony,interpersonal relationship and guidance,educating people,arousing people's cultural identity,and making folk art produce positive cultural function in social life.The author believes that the protection and inheritance of folk art as intangible cultural heritage should follow and maintain the collective nature of folk art,so that folk art can continue to play its positive cultural function by activating folk customs and returning the status of the main creative body of the people.
