Research On The Currency Of Yunnan In Modern Times From The Perspective Of Commodity Economy

In the history of human monetary development,the monetary form of each historical stage has been presented in the history of modern monetary development in Yunnan.It can be said that the history of modern monetary development in Yunnan is a concentrated history of monetary development:barter,physical currency,base metal currency,precious metal currency,paper currency and even foreign currency exist in varying degrees.The change of money,the interaction between money and commodity economic development,the co-circulation of money issued by local governments and central governments,foreign currencies,and a series of problems caused by multi-currency circulation are all important issues that we need to focus on.Yunnan is a multi-ethnic Frontier Province in the southwest.The diversity of social economy,culture and social life makes all the methods of historical stages unable to accurately express the social form of Yunnan in this period."Diversification"is the core word discussed in the first chapter of this article,including the imbalance of commodity economy development and the diversification of currency circulation.In the demonstration of this characteristic,we choose Kunming as the representative of the economically developed areas and Nujiang River basin as the representative of the economic backward areas to compare the commodity economic development.The comparison reflects the huge gap in the economic development of Yunnan in modern times.The circulation of various currencies at home and abroad in Yunnan during this period is undoubtedly a concrete manifestation of the imbalance in the development of commodity economy.At the same time,the regions with different degrees of economic development have the conditions to choose the currency suitable for circulation in this region.The huge difference of social and economic development,together with the influence of special geographical environment and traffic conditions,these objective factors together urge each region to choose the currency suitable for its own regional internal development.Regionalization is the focus of the second chapter of this article.Regionalization is a phenomenon formed in the process of currency circulation in Yunnan,and it is also an important feature of currency circulation in modern Yunnan.In summary,there are four main characteristics:first,special currency appears in a specific region,such as foreign currency;second,the same currency circulates differently in different regions;third,the currency of other provinces is more prominent in some regions;fourth,the paper currency gap caused by the exclusion of paper money.Money is not only a special commodity,but also a mirror of social,political and economic life.Influenced by the monetary change,the financial institutions closely related to money,i.e.the concurrent sales and ticket industry related to the traditional two-tier banking system,lost their survival soil after the abolition of the two-tier banking system,gradually disappeared or changed their business scope;pawnbroking industry was hard to sustain under the influence of inflation;the business scope of banks and banks began to gradually overlap,and eventually all went to silver.The direction of development.In the violent turbulence of the monetary system in the past half century,the most direct impact on the social economy is the change of currency value.The instability of currency brings about the instability of business and the instability of people’s lives.Money and politics are closely related.In the process of warlord separatism and its development in modern Yunnan,regional currency issuance was used to increase fiscal revenue and expand military expenditure.It is undeniable that the reform of Yunnan’s currency circulation system in modern times has exerted varying degrees of influence on the financial system,social life and the development of local political forces.
