Teams of researchers have clarified that formulaic language is widespread in language use in the wake of the development of linguistics.More and more investigators and scholars turn their attention and interest to the formulaic characteristics of language.Meanwhile,they constantly declare the importance and significance of formulaic language.Furthermore,in the process of English learning and teaching,we can also find the frequent occurrence of formulaic language.The existence of formulaic language makes English learners save a lot of time in the process of learning,and it plays a very important part in the fluency,accuracy and proficiency of language.In view of the advantages of formulaic language,it is essential for language learners to memorize and master how to use formulaic language.This paper adopts quantitative,qualitative and experimental methods to prove that the teaching of English formulas plays an important role in English language teaching,especially in the aspect of English writing ability.The research object of this paper is 84 students in two classes of a high school,and their writing scores in two tests.The purpose of this study is to explore the effect of task types on senior high school students' use of formulaic language in English writing.The experimental research lasted for 14 weeks.And there is no significant difference in the language ability between CG and EG in the pre-test.The author also divided the students of EG into three groups: input+back-translation group,input-rewriting group and input-writing group.After formulaic language teaching in EG,the post-test would be taken in the two classes,and students' scores would be collected.The author compared their writing scores in the pre-test and post-test by SPSS22.0 and discussed the relationship between the writing scores and the use of formulaic language.On the basis of the collected database and analysis of students' scores,it can be inferred that formulaic language teaching plays a key role in the improvement of the students' writing ability.For the input+back-translation group,it makes most significant effect in the aspect of ideas and arguments;The input-rewriting group makes most significant effect in the aspect of rhetorical organization and language use.There is no obvious change in the aspect of written mechanics.Therefore,formulaic language should be emphasized on English foreign language learning.Also,the author makes some suggestions for the formulaic language teaching researches in the future.
