Exploration On The Geometric Pattern Modeling Of Ren Bonian’s Figure Painting

Ren Bonian is one of the most outstanding artists in the modern "maritime painting school" in China.His landscape,flower and bird paintings are excellent,his achievements in figure painting are the most outstanding,and he is also recognized as a generation of masters in Chinese painting circles.Ren Bonian’s figure painting not only carries on the past,but also faces the future.Chen Hongshou,Bada Shanren and Liang Kai’s paintings had a great impact on Ren Bonian.Ren Bonian also promoted Xu Beihong,Jiang Zhaohe and Zhou Sicong’s paintings.Starting from Ren Bonian’s "geometric" clothing modeling,this paper makes a thorough study of Ren Bonian’s figure painting modeling,mainly in three aspects.The first is the reason of "geometric" clothing modeling.The main reason is that Chinese freehand figure painting pursues image beauty.The second is the method of"geometric" clothing modeling.Ren Bonian is mainly used in the treatment of clothes,such as "pen reduction","set pen"and "block drawing".The third is the typical representative theme of"geometric" clothing modeling.For example,Zhong Kui and Su Wu’s"geometric"clothes are"inverted triangle"and "regular triangle".Ren Bonian’s figure painting clothes shape "geometry" is mainly three aspects,that is,to improve the integrity of the picture,strengthen the vitality of the picture,and express the spiritual beauty of the characters.It is hoped that this paper will contribute a little to the research of Ren Bonian’s figure painting,and encourage more scholars to interpret the unique features of Ren Bonian’s figure painting from different perspectives.
