| Zuo Zhuan was originally called Zuo’s Spring and Autumn,which records the historical events of Lu Yingong to Lu Aigong in 255 years.The content is detailed and rich,so scholars always regard it as an important reference for the Spring and Autumn.Except for the history record,there are a lot of case explanations,which are mostly considered to be the meaning of the Spring and Autumn.However,it is difficult to explain the scripture out-and-out,and there are many contradictions.This is mainly because some of interpretations with the biography in Zuo Zhuan were mistaken as the annals of the scriptures.Therefore,in order to understand the biography explanations value of Zuo Zhuan,this study based on the evaluations and the meanings,to generalize and analysis the contents and methods of the biography explanations.In addition to the introduction,this study mainly includes the following five parts:The first part soutlines the interpretation of biographies in Zuo Zhuan.On the one hand,by combing the relevant scholars’ researches on the nature of the interpretation of Zuo Zhuan,affirming that it plays an important role in interpreting Spring and Autumn.On the other hand,compared with the Spring and Autumn,analyze the rationality of the emergence of the biography interpretations in Zuo Zhuan,and which is exist in “Gentleman says”,“Fifty cases” and Rite or Indecent assault.The second part introduces the biography explanations in “Gentleman says”.First of all,it is pointed out that the “Gentleman says” is a concentrated expression of the specific social discourse,which is including a variety of commentary methods.Secondly,through the analysis of the evaluation object of “Gentleman says”,we find this commentary following closely eye in the tiny places,and evaluating the story,subsequent events and detailed movements that are not seen in the scriptures.All of these commentary are the explanation of biographies,and it focuses on the exploration of character evaluation and the event causality in the biography.The third part discusses the biography explanations of the “fifty cases”.First,generalizing its characteristics that using simple to control complexity,using class-based to distinguish,and show it nature of rituals.Then,based on the interpretation of the cases,we regard it not only be the explanations of scriptures,however,it to explain the story,which is not recorded in the scriptures and the meaning of “Biography”,so these contents show a strong color of biography explanation.And in the content,it is focused on the explanation of ceremonies,the ways of wording and the writing for recoed in the biography.The fourth part take over the biography explanations of Rite and Indecent assault.Foremostly,generalizing the way and characteristics of comments based on “ritual”,we think it is based on the matter of facts to comment,and it difficult to escape from the text.Secondly,it is pointed out that the way of commenting pays attention to the specific behaviors,and there are many comments on the events or the details that are not recorded in the scripture,and the meaning of “Biography”,which is mostly the biography explanations.And the political measures,etiquettes,and moral acts,etc.which are recod in the biography,have all been regulated by “Rituals”.The conclusion part gather up the source and value of the three types of the biography explanations as a whole.It is believed that the expound of biographies in Zuo Zhuan have relative independence and play an important reference role in the study of biography.At the same time,it is affirmed that the expound of biographies,especially for the interpretation of the scriptures,which is more instructive for the interpretation of the rhetoric of the Spring and Autumn annals. |
