Abstract/Summary:
From the perspective of music historiography,taking the musical instruments unearthed in the Pre-Qin Dynasty as the research object,this paper explores the musical ideas of musical instrument producers and performers at that time from the aspects of shape,material,sounding principle,and the timbre,sequence,scale,melody of the musical instruments unearthed.Firstly,according to the historical period of musical instruments unearthed in the Pre-Qin Dynasty,this paper summarizes them by narrative method and table classification,outlines the distribution and category of musical instruments unearthed in the Pre-Qin Dynasty according to the historical period,and defines the term“ideas” in the title of this paper to determine the category discussed in this paper.Secondly,from the time,type,shape,sound measurement data,acoustic and other aspects of the musical instruments unearthed in the Pre-Qin Dynasty,combining with the classical literature on the music of the Pre-Qin Dynasty,this paper analyses the causes and process of the formation of Chinese traditional music ideas,reveals the musical features of the Pre-Qin Dynasty and verifies the emergence of the music theory of the Pre-Qin Dynasty;clears up the construction process of the music system of the Pre-Qin Dynasty from the unearthed musical instruments,and proves that musical instruments in different periods are the result of people’s music ideas activities in the course of history.Finally,combining the musical performance of unearthed musical instruments with the records in the literature and the brilliant achievements achieved in the field of music theory and practice in the Pre-Qin period,this paper systematically expounds the development and changes of music from non-standard to normative through dialectical materialism and the expression of the traditional music ideas of “voice,sound and music” in the Chinese music historiography,and also through the process from simple to complex of music understanding of musical instrument producers,this paper explores the dynamic development of traditional Chinese music ideas in order to deeply construct the systematic Chinese traditional music theory all round.Before the invention and handing down of the notation method,the historical facts of the music history of the Pre-Qin Dynasty can only be a blank state or so-called“dumb” state(1)of silence or music(such as musical instruments as cultural relics).In order to explore the cultural features of ancient music,such as the state of no sound,no music,no composition,the state of instrument(sound or soundless),no music,no composition,and the state of music no composition(a long-standing folk music type),there needs various research approaches and methods.(2)However,the level of making musical instrument in the Pre-Qin period occupies a essential historical position in the history of Chinese musical instrument development.Therefore,combining the reverse investigation of archaeological evidence with the historical description of music literature,this paper intends to analyze the development of music ideas in the Pre-Qin period from a relatively new perspective and method,reveal the development track of music ideas in the Pre-Qin period,and construct the current theoretical system of Chinese traditional music.
