With the arrival of the era of information explosion our aesthetic standards has become diversified, and the style of the painting world has also become diverse.People stand out in this period are those who are growing up in defiance of many doubters and those who insist on creating things of their own.Yuan Wu is one of those people and his works have their own unique characteristics in conception, composition, and brushwork."I am like an old man walking alone in the city of waste, listening to the melancholy wind that blows to the dusk,in a form that has already been popular, showing my vague feelings and sporadic thoughts." This is Yuan Wu’s depiction of his painting state in his article. He treasures and worships painting works. He uses long lines and black heavy mass to describe his mood and then gradually forms works of Yuan Wu style."The Early Morning of The Jokhang Temple" series was created after he left PLA Academy of Arts.He goes to the Tibetan area to collect materials, and records his own feelings and inspiration every day."The Early Morning of The Jokhang Temple" shows that the completion of a piece of work is the result of continuous conception, sketches and attempt.Yuan Wu’s success is not a matter of luck, but a necessity of accumulation. There were too many times in the first half of his life when he could stop to enjoy the achievement he has made, but he never gave up his dream of "Utopia".Now he is still moving forward. In this era of aesthetic diversity and pursuit of distinctiveness,we tend to follow suit blindly. We should set our own pace well and gets down to study,so that we can learn to look within ourselves. What I admire Yuan Wu most is his composure and his attitude towards dream, which is worth my lifelong learning. In the painting"Mother and Son",I draw on Yuan Wu’s composition and his thoughts on emotional expression. In addition to the pursuit of color,"The Ideal Country" is more about the attitude of painting, which helps me recognize my weakness.
