This task is a simulated consecutive interpretation of the speech entitled "The Situation Analysis of China’s Macro-economy" by Mr.Yao Jingyuan,an expert in China’s economy.This thesis consists of five chapters.The first chapter introduces the content and characteristics of this task.The second chapter reviews the whole simulated interpretation:task preparations,the simulated interpreting process and the task review.The third chapter focuses on the theoretical framework of the Adaptation Theory and its application in interpretation.The fourth chapter elaborates on how to cope with the three difficulties encountered in the task,covering redundant expression,culture-loaded expressions and expressions with Chinese characteristics,it also provides some practical strategies and skills adopted in the interpreting task.In the last chapter,the interpreter reflects on the whole task and gives suggestions for the future interpretation.It is hoped that this report would be beneficial for trainee interpreters and those who are interested in interpreting.
