Ink portraits are based on traditional Chinese ink wash figure painting style,its expression based on the object depicted and known.Character portraits can be emotional,character,demeanor more intuitive to express it.For ink portraits of creative exploration,it aims to explore the cultural expression of emotion behind the characters.This paper mainly in Yunnan Yi Sani branch department for the study,to show the life style of the ethnic groups in the form of painting.Yi Sani branch mainly located in Kunming Shilin county,its national culture,national customs,national legends,etc.can be used as the theme to create inexhaustible.This article aims to explore the theme of the Yi Sani branch of ink portraits of creation,through the study of the Sani people understand this group and find expression for ink portrait orientation.Focus on a particular race painting unfolds to a deeper understanding of the cultural background other than his portrait,and then on this basis its national spirit to reproduce the language of painting.Through the analysis of two focus groups depict a particular group or a state of mind of the artist's pen and ink language,composition methods,etc.,were summarized,and the use of creative exploration into the theme Sani ink portraits.At the same time,through fieldwork experience and practice in the Sani people live,understand their current living conditions will be conducive to the performance of its national spirit and national outlook.
