"The Four Teachings of Liao Fan" was finished writting in the Ming Dynasty.The book is composed of four chapters: The first chapter is "the Study of Destiny";The second one is "the Law of Reform";The third one is "the Prescription of Goodness";And the forth chapter is "the Effect of Virtue".The late Ming Dynasty in which Yuan Huang lived was a turbulent period.It could be said that the "Four Teachings of Liao Fan" was the product of Yuan Huang's combination of the characteristics of the times and of the unique personal life opportunities.This paper focuses on the ethics of "four teachings" and is expected to provide a way of thinking for us to explore the problems of virtue and welfare by clarifying the view of virtue and welfare of the "four teachings".Based on the perspective of ethics,this paper discusses the view of virtue and welfare in three parts.The first part analyzes the origin and purport of the "four teachings".The formation of Yuan Huangdefu's thought was deeply influenced by Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism.Therefore in this part the author first analyzes the origin of the view of "all the four disciplines" and then points out the main idea of "all four disciplines".The second part demonstrates the ethical requirements of Yuan Huang Defu through the concrete practice of "surrendering oneself to goodness".The practice path that Yuan Huang De-fu pointed out as individual "blessing" is to change the good so as to accumulate the goodness into virtue,but accept the blessing with modesty.The third part analyzes the value enlightenment of the "four teachings",which makes us think about how to live a "good" life.
