Artistic Characteristics And Singing Study Of Shida Hao's "Seeking The Origin"

“Seeking the Origin” was created in the spring of 2001.It is an extraordinary work that commemorates the rich history of the Red Revolution of Jiangxi by its tune,inspires people in the modern age with great singing skill and presents the unique charm and the touching melody of music in all aspects.Also it was made available in the sixth edition of “The Songs” in 2001.Winning “Radio and Art Awards” of the Nation Radio and Television Division,the silver award of the fourth “Review of a Hundred TV Music Shows” held by China Broadcast Association,the eighth “Five-One Project” of Provincial Party Committee Propaganda Department,this work is a repertoire in all kinds of performance evenings and of many classical vocal competitors.The traditional meaning of “seeking the origin” is tracing the ancestry,which differs from that of this work-retrospective at the start of the Chinese Nation and the birth of the People's Republic of China on Jiangxi's red earth.This work was one of author's choices in the graduation solo concert.Therefore a lot of related researches were made.The first part of this essay is an introduction to the creative achievement and characteristics of lyricist and composer and background of this work.The second part presents the artistic characteristics,including analysis on characteristics of lyrics,melody and musical structure.The third part are a collection of the author' s personal singing experience and study.And the last part is a conclusion.These researches interpret the work by its characteristics of lyrics,melody and musical structure and singing analysis,meanwhile,the personal experience and ideas in author' s three years of study are also integrated in it for deeper illustration and explanation.On account of lacking related discussions and researches so far,it is hoped that this essay could provide reference and help for vocal learners of “Seeking the Origin” in future.
