After Meiji Restoration,Japan has embarked on the foreign aggression and expansion road of "lost form Western, grab form Eastern",making the Asian countries and regions suffer. However,we often ignore studying its expansion policy practice from the starting point-the Ryukyu Kingdom.Ryukyu Kingdom as a vassal state in southeast China Sea from the Ming Dynasty, had paid tribute to China,in return, the Chinese emperor would grant a reward of canonization. As the center of transit trade,it had gradually developed into a "universal beam",whose huge economic interests caused the covet.Japan had invaded Ryukyu twice, and finally forced them to surrender to the Meiji government.Supported by both sides of Ryukyu and China, the anti-Japanese movement happened one after another. After the end of World War ?,Ryukyu was hosted by UN.Later the United States returned its "administrative rights" to Japan for political considerations in 1972.Today it is still "status undetermined." Coupled with changes in the international situation, the geopolitical significance of this region has been continuously enlarged and valued. As the first stop of Japan's foreign aggression and expansion, colonial rule test field in Southeast Asian aggression operations,Ryukyu has important research value. The main contents of this study include three parts:firstly,Japan recognized Ryukyu's significance from the following facts:the first violation of Japanese Satsuma in 1609,foreign ships' coming to Ryukyu as well as the economic exploitation.Secondly, from the changes of Meiji government cabinet on the Ryukyu policy to invasion aimed at Taiwan where Japan used Mudan incident as an excuse, and endorsement of the "Beijing Convention",it's clear that Japan took Ryukyu as a springboard to implement external expansion policy.Thirdly, after Ryukyu being forced to implement the " Abolition of the han system" policy,Meiji government carried out civic education, brutal conscription, and cheated hard earnings of "international immigrants",which fully demonstrated the fact that Meiji government regarded Ryukyu as its "domestic colonies".People there lived the tragic life, which is clearly the result of Japanese war of aggression.Through the three stages of Japan's Ryukyu policy research,we can figure out the Ryukyu status in Japan's expansion strategy.
