| With the development of cultural globalization,pluralism and popularity in the world,the film,a cultural form with distinctive features,has become the most popular cultural and artistic form.The films of different languages fully display their national and cultural characteristics,publicize their ethics,morality and values,and advocate their humanistic spirit,making the exchange of films a pioneer in the global cultural communication.High quality movie subtitle translation can add beauty to the movie,thus attracting more audience.It can not only bring pleasant experience to the viewer,but also better promote the communication and transmission of different cultures.The purpose of film subtitle translation is to ensure that the audience of the target language obtains the same view experience as the source language audience,and strives to obtain the greatest contextual effect with the minimum effort of the target audience.Therefore,this paper attempts to adopt Relevance Translation Theory as a theoretical basis to guide subtitle translation,and to put forward constructive translation strategies for subtitle translation in order to achieve the best relevance according to the two relevance factors.Therefore,under the guidance of relevance translation theory and through the detailed analysis of the relevance factors,the translator adopts the following translation strategies: addition,reduction and colloquialism.The report is divided into four chapters: description of the translation task,description of the translation process,case analysis and summary.Based on the translation practice,these four parts show the process of utilizing the relevance theory to guide the practice in the hope of providing reference and inspiration for the translation practice in the future. |
