A Report On The Translation Of Measures For Undergraduate Student Status Management In Tianjin University

Claude Elwood Shannon,a mathematician in the United States,is the founder of information theory,and he is the first one who proposed the concept of "redundancy information" in 1948.Nida found that the transmission of information is very similar to that of translators.The theory of redundancy information is applied to the translation practice.The translation of redundancy information also becomes an important part of Nida's dynamic equivalence theory.The original text for this translation practice is Measures for Undergraduate Student Status Management in Tianjin University which belongs to the practical style.During the process of translation,the translator should not only be highly faithful to the original text,but also use the appropriate translation to reproduce the source text.The translation practice report is divided into four chapters,the first chapter is the translation task description,which introduces the task background,project introduction and mission significance;the second chapter is the description of the translation process,which mainly introduces the translator's preparation after receiving the translation task including translation preparation,translation implementation and proofreading;the third chapter is the cases study in Measures for Undergraduate Student Status Management in Tianjin University.Under the guidance of redundancy information theory,the author summarizes conversion,amplification,omission three translation methods combining with the cases from the following four respects,word redundancy,syntactic redundancy,semantic redundancy and contextual redundancy;Chapter 4 is the summery of this translation practice.In order to further explore its significant guiding role for promoting the effective progress of translation activities and realize the dynamic equivalence between source language and target language,the redundancy information theory is used as the guiding theory in this translation practice.At the same time,The author expects that this translation practice report could provide some reference for the future translation of redundancy information.
