Compared with the tang dynasty,the five dynasties and the song dynasty,the flower-and-bird painting in the yuan dynasty had a significant change.Literati painting began to rise.The academy system was abolished and flowers and birds were painted in ink color.The ideological tendency is relatively decadent,and the works mostly express their own living environment and aesthetic ideal,emphasizing humanistic feelings.The yuan dynasty is only 100 years old,but its importance in cultural history should not be underestimated.Zhang zhong was one of the most representative figures of flower and bird painting in the yuan dynasty.He learned painting and calligraphy and painting landscapes,flowers and birds from his childhood,inheriting the primitive simplicity of tang people,xu xi's "wild and elegant",wen tong's ink painting techniques,and cui bai's painting techniques of meticulous brushwork.And through the natural sensitive observation,feeling,in the use of ink,the pursuit of yiqu on continuous exploration.Has diluted the painting education function,emphasized the creation "the self-entertainment",presents for us the image vivid,rich wild interest flower and bird painting work,to the Ming and qing dynasties calligrapher shen zhou,hua yan and so on painter has the important influence.This paper studies zhang zhong's flower-and-bird painting from four chapters.The first two chapters discuss zhang zhong's living environment,the reasons for the formation of flower-and-bird painting and its artistic characteristics.The last two chapters discuss the difference between the flower-and-bird paintings of Chen Lin and wang yuan in the same period and the flower-and-bird paintings of zhang zhong and the influence of the flower-and-bird paintings of zhang zhong on the flower-and-bird paintings of Ming and qing dynasties.
