Compared to discourse and characters,dance is an earlier way of information transmission.Ancient humans used dance body language to conduct education,sacrifice,training and other activities;it can be said that dance is an important promoter and recorder of the development and inheritance of human civilization.The unique ecological environment,historical culture,geographical features,people’s physical and mental needs and social life have collectively created forms,movements and styles of different ethnic dances.Therefore,dance is a cultural microcosm with deep cultural heritage and distinct regional characteristics and is a cultural symbol with high degree of identification.The Zhuang nationality originated from the continuation of Luoyue culture,and was conceived in hilly areas with rugged terrain of Lingnan.The Zhuang nationality’s original ecological dance retains the traditional and long-standing visions of religious beliefs,totem worship,and life pursuit in the history of the Zhuang nationality.By interpreting the original dance symbols of the Zhuang nationality,following the symbol element tracks such as dance movements,props and costumes,this paper reproduces the original appearance and significance of the “original” dance,pursues the magnificent and colorful cultural development process of the Zhuang nationality,and explores the life appearance of ancient human ancestors in the Luoyue era to inherit the spirit of national culture.The musical dance drama Huashan is the first large-scale stage art work with Huashan cliff frescoes as the creation background.Centered on the exploration and inheritance of the Zhuang civilization,the work presents a number of dance symbols with distinct national colors.Therefore,taking the musical dance drama Huashan as an example,this paper takes the Zhuang nationality’s original ecological dance symbol as the study object,and combines the theoretical knowledge of dance,art,Ethnology,folklore,aesthetics and other disciplines from the perspective of semiotics to survey and study original form,historical and cultural background of Zhuang dance symbols presented in the drama: to interpret the cultural connotation,significance and function of the original ecological dance symbols of the Zhuang nationality combined with the stage reproduction of dance symbols.This paper is divided into introduction,text and conclusion.The introduction mainly clarifies the reasons for the subject selection,the purpose and significance of the study,the relevant study status at home and abroad,and the study methods used in this paper.The text contains three chapters.The first chapter consists of three parts: the first part is about the art creation background of the musical dance drama Huashan;the second part introduces the geographical location and content of the Huanshan Cliff frescoes,the prototype of the theme of the drama,the “Frog” worship and “Sun and Moon” worship of Huashan cliff frescoes as representative religious and cultural beliefs,as well as related literature records,myths and legends and other folk literature culture and rice culture background;the third part briefly summarizes the plot of the musical dance drama Huashan.Taking the musical dance drama Huashan as an example and taking the theory of semiotics as the basis,the second chapter discusses in detail the cultural background and stage reproduction of the original dance symbols of the Zhuang nationality and interprets the cultural connotation of the original dance symbols of the Zhuang nationality from the four dimensions of dance movement symbols,dance props symbols,dance music symbols and dance costumes symbols.The third chapter,from the perspective of semiotics,discusses the symbolic meanings of the original dance symbols,such as representation,emotional expression,and ideographical expression,and the symbolic functions such as marking,transmission,and inheritance.The conclusion makes some reflections on the inheritance way of original dance symbols of the Zhuang nationality.Dance art has the particularity of “teaching by words and deeds” and “transient”,so in the context of cultural integration and innovative development,it is an urgent study subject to maintain its distinctive national character and continuity.The artistic work Huashan in this context provides a certain value and path to the spread and inheritance of the original dance symbols of the Zhuang nationality.
