Different ecological culture environment of each nation made different music culture.The ritual ‘ Zhao Ta' is an unique music culture transformation of the group named ‘Ping Di Yao',which has a similar ritual structure of ‘ fullfill the king Pan's promise',but the two rituals have different sacrificing objects.Through the action of kowtowing and playing drums and Sheng during ritual,the master would worship ancestors,and the word ‘Zhao Ta' was born.Ping Di Yao in Fuchuan is a branch of Pan Yao,here the local festival is colorful,such as ‘festival of chopping cattle',‘festival of king Pan' and ‘festival of king She',its religious faith mainly based on worshiping ancestors and ghosts and gods.The ritual ‘Zhao Ta' mainly spread in village Fuchuan Shi,village Shang Dong and Jianghua Baimang camp in Hunan province.‘Zhao Ta' is a kind of sacrificing ritual for worshiping ancestors and gods,including a great deal of folk music and sound cultures.By narrating the ritual process and recording the sound culture in the ritual,could help us fully understand the music culture and the function of folk ritual in the sacrificing ritual of Ping Di Yao,hence facillitating people's understanding and inheritance of the sacrificing ritual culture in Ping Di Yao.This dissertation will disscuss in three aspects,that are music form analysis,recording the ritual and the meaning of ritual culture,and it will be divided into three parts.The first part mainly introduced the origin and the meaning of the topic,literature review and concept map.The second part was made of two chapters,the first chapter introduced the village and culture situation where the ‘Zhao Ta' was born,and the transmitting situation of ‘Zhao Ta' in the village,to explore the historical origin and development of ‘Zhao Ta' ritual,while the second chapter recorded the actual ritual and introduced the staff in the ritual.The second chapter also described detailed content of ‘Zhao Ta' ritual and analyzed its music form,so that it is possible to investigate the development of music culture in‘Zhao Ta' ritual.The final part will mainly analyze the folk meaning in‘Zhao Ta' music culture,discussing its folk culture and narrating its function of social culture.
