Abstract/Summary:
Boris Godunov,the opera adapted from Pushkin’s plays by Russian musician Mussorgsky in the 19 th century,is based on the famous historical revolutionary events in Russia.Mussorgsky wrote both the libretto and the music part of the opera.For the narrative of the same story,the opera version of Boris Godunov perfectly utilizes the characteristics and advantages of opera genre on the level of script and music,making the opera more logical and fluent in the narrative construction of the script,and closely linking the content of the story in music,so that the music and the plot can achieve the unity of the two in the narrative.At the same time,the opera integrates the composer’s understanding of the history,nation and society of the country,shows profound ideological connotation and realistic style,thus further deepening the theme of the play.This paper is divided into four parts.The first chapter-introduction is the first part.The second part is the second chapter.The second part is the second chapter,which summarizes the theory and development of narratology,explores the basic methods of opera narration,and establishes the theoretical basis of this paper.The third part is the third and fourth chapters,which is also the main part of this paper.Chapter three makes a narrative study of the opera Boris Godunov from the perspective of script.Based on the theory and method of theatrical narrative study,and combined with the specific characteristics of the opera,the narrative construction of the opera is analyzed.Chapter Four makes a narrative study of the opera from the perspective of music.Firstly,the narrative of opera music is analyzed from two aspects of vocal music and instrumental music,and the narrative uniqueness of opera genre is discussed.Secondly,it explores the corresponding music narrative strategies adopted by the composer with the specific narrative content of the opera.The fourth part is the conclusion.This part further summarizes the relationship between opera and narration,refines and explores Mussorgsky’s creative methods and characteristics of the opera,and explores the artistic value embodied in this work.
