For promoting autonomous learning,practical studies on peer reading in reading class and peer response in writing class have already been conducted,and many research results have been acquired.However,practical studies aimed at promoting autonomous learning through conversation class have not been observed so far.Therefore,this study focused on Japanese language conversation education,attempted to design a special conversation curriculum for the promotion of autonomous learning and explored the feasibility of cultivating students' ability in this aspect.First of all,in Chapter one,the orientation of this research was clarified by overviewing the previous researches on autonomous learning.In Chapter two,based on these researches,a special conversation curriculum was designed to promote autonomous learning.It was consisted of two parts,one was the language activity design and another was the evaluation design.And then,in Chapter three,we took the cases of two groups as an example to show if their studies were autonomous or not by using this curriculum.In Chapter four,we conducted a questionnaire survey to clarify how students were thinking of the conversation class.In particular,focusing on students' changes during the process,this research inspected the effect of the teaching practice.The results showed that the conversation class are well recognized by the students,and the changes of the students were observed from the aspect of consciousness,emotion and ability.This result proved that it is possible to train students' self-learning ability through conversation class.
