Based on the valuable experience of the international curriculum reform and curriculum reform in China,the Ministry of Education revised the reform of the ordinary high school curriculum in China in 2017.The general high school English curriculum pays more attention to students' basic knowledge and basic skills,comprehensive language and cross-cultural communication ability on the basis of compulsory education.Writing plays an important role in improving English learning ability and application ability.However,current China's high school English writing teaching lacks effective writing teaching methods.At the same time,due to restrictions in writing time and writing difficulty,students' English writing interest is generally low;Plus most teachers in the evaluation of English writing pay more attention to the writing results,not emphasizing the writing process,and they are lack of the effective evaluation of writing teaching.These factors ultimately lead to students' the lack of confidence in writing,the lack of strong motivation,and the lack of good writing habits.Therefore,how to mobilize students' writing interest and improve their English writing performance in writing teaching is an urgent problem for teachers and scholars.In order to solve this problem,accessing to a large number of literatures,as well as visiting the primary and secondary school teachers being at the forefront of teaching,the author learns the evaluation method of portfolio evaluation.The author looks through this evaluation.The idea is that this is also advocated by the new English curriculum standards.The new Course Standard points out: “The evaluation of the English curriculum for ordinary high school should focus on and promote the formation and development of the core literacy of students' English majors.It adopts a multi-evaluation method combining formative evaluation and summative evaluation,and attachesimportance to the promotion of evaluation.” This evaluation method combines the advantages of formative evaluation and summative evaluation.It can not only monitor the writing process of students,mobilizing their writing self-confidence and writing motivation,but also encourage students to actively participate in the evaluation process,avoiding the unity of teacher evaluation and inspiring students' interest in writing.In order to further verify portfolio evaluation as a type of writing evaluation applied to the evaluation of English composition,the author conducted a three-month experimental study in the internship of Yan' an Experimental Middle school,trying to figure out the following questions: 1)Can portfolio evaluation improve students' interest in English writing? 2)Can portfolio evaluation improve students' English writing scores?The author started a three-month teaching experiment in Class 9,Grade 2,senior high and Class 10,Grade 2,senior high of Yan'an Experimental High School.In this experiment,Class 9,Grade 2,senior high is the experimental class,and Class 10,Grade2,senior high is the control class.Before the start of the experiment,a writing interest questionnaires and writing level test were conducted for the two classes to see if they were significant differences in writing interest and writing level.Through the analysis of the questionnaire data and writing score data,the significant(tailing)values of both are greater than.05,indicating that there is no significant difference in writing interest and writing score between the two classes;During the experiment,the author used the portfolio evaluation in the experimental class and used the summative evaluation method in the control class;In the later stage of the experiment,the questionnaires of writing interest and the writing level test were again conducted.By comparing writing interest and writing level tests data,using SPSS22.0 for related data analysis,the study gets the two significant(tailing)values ? ? are less than.05,indicating that there were significant difference in writing interest and writing score between the two classes.So the study confirms that the portfolio evaluation can not only stimulate students' writing interest,but also improve students' writing performance.
