Comparison Of Semantics And Pragmatics Of The Adverbs Of Zhishi And Guangshi

The study of adverb,especially the ones with the same meaning and using ways,is very important in syntax or teaching Chinese as a foreign language.However,the studies on homoionym and emerging adverbs needs to be strengthened,for instance,“zhishi” and“guangshi”.both of them are located in front of the verbs and adjectives to indicate the repetition or the continuation of an action or manner.However,in some cases they can be interchanged,and in some cases they can't.Accordingly,this article intends to analyse the similarities and differences of“zhishi” and “guangshi”from semantic and pragmatic point of view.This paper consists of five elements.The first part is preface which describes the reasons and significance of the topic,research status and the existing problems of the study of “zhishi” and “guangshi”,and research methods and corpus selection.The second part is a series of related issues about “zhishi” and “guangshi”,which concludes the lexicalization of “zhishi” and “guangshi”,the difference between “zhishi” and “guangshi”and “buXshi”,and the basic meaning of the two adverbs.The adverb “zhishi” become a word around the Tang Dynasty,and “guangshi” around the Ming Dynasty.he grammatical units“buguangshi” and “buzhishi” does not consists of negative adverb “bu” and “zhishi” or“guagnshi”.when “buzhi” and “buguang” become word,they conmbine focus sign “shi”.The third part is the semantic comparison of “zhishi” and “guangshi”,and his part is divided into two parts.The first one is the semantic similarities and differences between “zhishi”and “guangshi”.Through semantic feature analysis,to make sure the of semantic similarities and differences.“zhishi”has nine semantic features,and “guangshi” has seven semantic features.When they bear the same semantic features,we usually rade one word of them with the aother in a sentence.On the contrary,when they can't bear the the same semantic features or “zhishi” has some distinctive meaning features which “guangshi” doesn't possess,we can't exchange them in a sentence.The second part is a comparison of “zhishi” and “guangshi” from semantic orientation.We looked at the different performance of them in contrastive structures and common structures.Beyond that,we point out that the semantic orientation of “zhishi” and“guangshi” in contrastive structures is part of the whole semantic orientation.The forth part describes the similarities and differences between “zhishi” and “guangshi”from pragmatics.The last part is the summary of the paper.
