Locke's idea epistemology is often regarded as an "empiricism" philosophy. This kind of knowledge can not well understand the theoretical achievements and inherent difficulties of Locke's idea epistemology,on the contrary,it causes too simple interpretation or even misunderstanding.Locke's philosophy does have a lot of ambiguities, but it is not lack of structure.Generally speaking, his basic concepts are full of a mixture of two perspectives, namely "realist perspective" and "pure idea perspective".Secondly, his complex concepts contain a seemingly irreconcilable "abstract theory" and "compound theory of ideas".From the perspective of relative independence of content,Locke's epistemology of ideas can be divided into three parts which can be independently examined, namely: basic concepts, complex concepts and linguistic concepts.Among them, the first two parts have the most epistemological value but the most lack of structural investigation. From the perspective of ease of study, basic concepts can be divided into "sensation theory","perception theory" and "introspection theory".In sensation theory, the division between Locke's "realist perspective" and "purely idea perspective" is evident;in perception theory,Locke's perceptual concepts and concepts need to take into account a kind of implicit meaning limitation in order to be understood, which is determined by the decentralization of his language, and the best window to find this meaning limitation is the concept of "attention";Locke's concept of "introspection" is shown as a special type of perception with the help of the concept of "attention".In addition, there are two parts of complex concepts which have structural significance, namely "abstract theory" and "compound theory",which together constitute Locke's two incompletely coordinated basic ideas in the field of complex concepts. From these investigations,we can find some inherent problems existing in Locke's epistemology of concepts based on structural defects and miscellaneous perspectives. They mainly include "the unproven nature of realism","the lack of conscious active giving","the contradiction in the way of abstract giving","the plot dependence of compound theory" and "multiple Subjects".The response of Berkeley,Hume,Kant and Husserl to these questions promoted the formation and maturity of pure idea philosophy.Pure idea philosophy is phenomenology in the general sense,so Locke's idea epistemology was actually presented as an early epistemological attempt with phenomenological characteristics.
