At the beginning of the twentieth century,Chinese ink figure painting is in the period of transition to modern.This paper takes the early transformation of traditional ink figure painting and modern ink figure painting as the background,through the analysis of pictures,the comparison of formal language and the interpretation of artistic ideas,to clarify the early change motivation,the change method and the analysis of the final fall back to language of modern ink figure painting.In the first half of this paper,we first introduce the aesthetic characteristics and language characteristics of traditional ink figure painting,in order to better clarify ideas.The middle part introduces the background and reasons of the reform of modern ink figure painting,and also discusses the influence of the West on Chinese ink painting.The third chapter mainly analyses the changes of formal language and explores the richness of artistic language from multiple dimensions.The last part is a general overview of ink painting since 1930 s that time and the inspiration to Chinese ink painting art.
