With the development of higher vocational education,it has been proved that the fundamental goal of higher vocational education reform is to cultivate vocational ability for social demand.The application of higher vocational education to students' practice ability need higher request,and the development of higher vocational public English teaching is lagging behind.This paper analyzes the problems of vocational ability training in higher vocational public English teaching,and points out that competency-based education teaching is the root of education quality improvement in higher vocational public English teaching reform.This study from professional ability training perspective aims to enhance the level of public English teaching and to improve students' practical ability.It emphasizes on the following four aspects in this paper: Firstly,the vocational skills with the inner link of higher vocational public English teaching carried on the thorough analysis,sorting out the public English teaching in higher vocational colleges and the relationship of the professional ability training;Secondly,it elaborates the theoretical basis of education and makes it more convincing.Thirdly,Zhalantun vocational college selected as the study case,for the school of the present status of vocational ability training in higher vocational public English teaching through the questionnaire survey,it is found that in public English teaching in higher vocational colleges at present,status and public English teaching's shortage in higher vocational colleges are pointed out in the absence of professional ability training problem and its reason.Fourth,how to improve the public English teaching in higher vocational colleges,how to promote the deepening of the reform of public English teaching,and how to strengthen students' professional ability is put forward with corresponding countermeasures and Suggestions?To sum up,this paper takes professional competence as the orientation and conducts a series of studies on the teaching problems in the current public English teaching in higher vocational colleges.It emphasizes that under the guidance of education,vocational English teaching in higher vocational colleges can be effectively implemented by adopting corresponding teaching reform strategies in all teaching links.
