Reproduction Of Rhetorical Effect In The Translation Of Economic Texts

The original text of the translation report is selected from the first chapter to the fourth chapter of Skin in the Game: Hidden Asymmetries in Daily Life.The author is Nassim Nicholas Taleb,and the original text is an economic text.The main issue is about risk and income asymmetry.The article is mainly narrative,and the content is like storytelling.The text uses some rhetorical devices to make the article more vivid and more understandable to the reader.How to translate these rhetorical devices is a difficult problem in the translation process.The main part of the report mainly discusses the rhetorical issues in the translation process.Rhetoric can be divided into generalized rhetoric and narrow rhetoric.Rhetorical devices belong to narrow rhetoric and usually have fixed formats.Although there are commonalities between Chinese and English in rhetorical devices,the differences are also very large.This report mainly explores how translation can reflect the rhetorical effect achieved by English from the perspective of narrow rhetoric.In the analysis part,the report starts from the two aspects of word meaning rhetoric and syntactic rhetoric.It analyzes the rhetorical effect of Chinese and English from the perspective of words and syntax,and analyzes the problems with the relevant theories of systemic functional grammar and pragmatics.It handles the translation with the help of amplification,division and free translation.By writing this translation report,the author understands the financial aspects,improves the ability to find and solve problems,and further understands the translation of rhetoric.The author hopes that this report can be used as a reference for other translators who have raised relevant issues.
