Theravada is one of the three sects of Buddhism, also officially known as Theravada Buddhism and especially common in Southeast Asia, such as Sri Lanka,Thailand,Myanmar,Laos,Cambodia and other countries. In China,it is spread only in the part of Yunnan Province, which is adjacent to the Southeast Asian Buddhist culture, stretching from the west to the south of the narrow strip, including Xishuangbanna,Dehong, and Pu'er,fand Linyi,Baoshan, part of the Red River."Dan Fo",meaning that praying Buddha for blessings,is an important religious activity in Theravada affairs. It is deeply rooted into all aspects of the life of the Dai people."In Xishuangbanna,“Dan Tan” is divided into two categories, collective and individual, and each has its own characteristics. In the village of Man lv,the collective “Dan Tan” is mainly a religious activity in which the village collectively worships the scriptures to the Buddhist temple. The scale is small and the holding time is short, which is not valued by the villagers of Man lv,and the individual “Dan Tan” is the Dai nationality. It is also an important activity in this paper to enshrine the scriptures to the Buddhist temple and to save for the afterlife, the most expensive and most active use of human and material resources.Manlü Village has a great enthusiasm for "Dan Tan".Since the resumption of Buddhism faith in the village in 1980's,there have been 3 or 5 household activities every year without stop.During the ceremony, the villagers of Manlü played a collective role and made no effort to devote their financial and material resources to the "Dan Tan" to jointly organize this anecdote for a family. No social tide or change in modern society has shaken the status of "Dan Tan" in the Manlv Dai's mind. This is not a random phenomenon. It is the "result" of the collective selection of sacred things. It is in the needs of certain societies. Is the expression of the collective will of this social value orientation?Through the series of pre-ceremony preparations, the ritual process, the flow of gifts in martyrdom, the symbolic nature of the ritual objects, and the field interviews,we will examine how the "Dan" has made some modifications with the changes insociety. What are the inner drives for change and how to adapt to social development and self-adaptation in the process of change? "Dan Tan" can still be rooted in the Manlü society and is inseparable from the profound connotations it contains. It explores the society that plays the "Dan Tan" in the Manlü society by examining the reasons for the spread of "Dan Tan".Value meaning. The first chapter begins withthe origin of inquiry, giving a brief introduction to the anecdote activities of Manlü Village all year round in a chronological order, focusing on the classification of “Dan Tan” and the “tan” in “Dan Tan Wood"content. The second chapter Through the ritual preparation, banqueting guests, and the presentation of the chanting, the ritual process of “Dan Tan”is thoroughly and completely demonstrated, including the production and preparation of gifts, keeping the community and guests in order and obeying to the ritual taboos while chanting.Furthermore,it construes the different roles played by monks, sages, lords, women, and men in the“Dan Tan” activities, showing that people in different social positions are obedient to this set of personal behavior patterns that meet the social requirements.analyzes the symbolic meaning contained in the ritual of "Dan Tan".The third chapter expounds the evolution of the content of “Dan Tan” with the development of the society and its motivation for change. The fourth chapter elaborate the reasons for the spread of "Dan Tan" and its social significance.
