Feminist translation theory,originated in the 1980s,is an integration of translation theory and feminist movement,and its representative scholars include Sherry Simon and Luise Von Flotow.This theory advocates the abolishment of gender discrimination and calls for social awareness of equal social status for women and as well as that for a translator.Frog is a novel themed on fertility,describing the life of an obstetrician in the 1960s of China.The research value of Frog,a masterpiece that won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2012 and its translated versions is of no doubt.And this paper intends to conduct a comparative analysis of Rana and Frog from the perspective of feminist translation theory.This paper consists of five chapters.The first one briefly introduces the research background,methods and main structure.The second chapter is a literature review features on past research on this novel and its two translated versions from the perspective of feminist translation theory.The third outlines the theoretical framework.The fourth chapter,also the pillar chapter,is divided into three that analyze the corresponding translation examples from feminist translation theories,strategies and propositions in a general fashion,and finally makes a summary.The fifth chapter wraps up this paper with its findings,significance and shortcomings.
