The Guzheng concerto A Night on the Lake Beneath the Maple Bridge originated from the poem with the same name written by Zhang Ji of Tang Dynasty, which was composed by the composer Wang Jianmin in 2001.The music presents the deep emotions of Chinese scholars and renders the listeners a remote historic situation in which the poet was in melancholy and solitude. The tune is featured with traditional lyrics with fertile imagination and pleasant melody, hence greatly endeared. The present thesis is first to make a comparative study of the features of musical pattern exemplified by the three performing cases of Jiwei,Lujing,Renjie, then analyze the physical experiences afforded by the different players and finally explore the causes of the disparities in these playings. |
