On The Teaching Ideas And Creative Ideas Of Wu Fuzhi's Flower-bird Freehand Paintings

Wu Fuzhi(1900-1977),born in Pujiang County,Zhejiang Province,was a famous modern traditional Chinese painter and art educator and one of the founders of new Zhejiang flower-bird paintings.He successively served as the professor of Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts and the professor of Beiping State Vocational Art School.After the liberation,he served as the professor of Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts(now China Academy of Fine Arts)and concurrently served as the head of the Chinese Painting Department.Wu Fuzhi was good at flower-bird freehand paintings,landscape paintings and figure paintings.Meanwhile,he also had deep attainments and unique views about painting history,painting theories,poetry and calligraphy.Wu Fuzhi had been engaged in art education and art creation for over 50 years.He was among the first to propose learning by different branches including figures,landscape,flowers and birds,etc.in Chinese painting department of academies of fine arts all over China with Pan Tianshou and others;he acquired and identified a large number of original ancient paintings to provide valuable templates and teaching materials for Chinese painting materials;he also developed courses and teaching plans for various subjects and formed a complete set of education and teaching system for academies of fine arts.By combining his own creative ideas with education ideas,Wu Fuzhi has provided a framework and teaching methods for Chinese painting teaching in modern academies of fine arts and cultivated many excellent talents for modern Chinese painting art.Through summarizing the education and teaching experience of Mr.Wu,this thesis interviewed Mr.Wu's students face to face and searched materials about curriculum setting and curriculum content to explore Mr Wu's education ideas about modern flower-bird freehand paintings.Based on Mr.Wu's education ideas,this thesis analyzed his creative ideas of modern flower-bird freehand paintings and proposed reflections and suggestions for the teaching and creation of flower-bird freehand paintings in modern academies of fine arts.
