An Interpreting Report Of 2017 National Day Reception Of The Republic Of Malawi

The rapid development of Chinese economy has deeply promoted the exchanges and cooperation between China and other countries all over the world.As the continuous improvement of comprehensive national strength of China,the international society pays more and more attention to the "voice" from China.As one of the direct and fast methods of communication,accompany interpretation has build a bridge to facilitate communication between China and other countries and it also plays an initial role in frequent exchanges in various fields of international politics,economy,science and culture.With the development of interpreting research,the study of interpreting has become one of the hot topics in academic research.This practice report is based on the analysis of the speech manuscripts and daily interpretation transcripts of the National Day Reception which is held by Malawi Embassy in Beijing from July 6,2017 to July 8,2017.This paper mainly elaborates on the tasks of interpretation,preparation before translation,case analysis,post-translation summary,enlightenment and prospects.During the reception dinner,the author serves as a reception for welcoming foreign employees,accompanying interpreters and interpreters on the reception site.This National Day reception is an important foreign diplomatic event.The quality of interpretation for this important event will not only affect the friendly cooperation between the two countries,but also the peace and stability between China and Africa,China and other countries in Europe and the United States.The key point of this interpretation task is the preparation of parallel texts before interpretation,the formulation of terminology,the analysis of the characteristics of African style of English,the preparation of emergency plans,the theoretical analysisof interpretation and the rational travel planning.By introducing the theory of interpretation into the practice of interpreting,the translator,with the help of parallel text analysis,summarizes the methods and strategies applicable to the practice of foreign affairs interpreting.Through the establishment of a corpus of foreign affairs interpretation terminology,in-depth analysis of typical cases,full prediction of various specific problems that may arise in the practice of interpreting,summed up the methods and techniques applicable to the task of escort interpretation,and found out the strategies and methods to solve the problems of informal English listening and digital interpretation in the process of accompanying interpretation.In the procedure of cases analysis,amplifications,omissions,disconnection,conversions,interpretation method are the main methods of interpretation.According to the interpreter's personal qualities and predict of the emergency situations,we should fully prepare responses to the emergencies.Be good at utilizing favorable factors,being frank and honest,responding quickly,remedying in time,summarizing carefully and be ready to overcome any difficulties for future.Through the summary of interpretation practice,the author hopes that this report can provide some parallel texts and technical references for interpreters engaged in such translation field,as well as theoretical research on interpretation,especially the application of interpretive theory to interpretation practice,and make a little bit of contribution to future language services and related research.
