A Study On Mozi’s Moral Education Thought And Its Contemporary Value

Mozi is recognized as a great thinker in the pre-Qin period of China,whose thought is granted as “the world’s outstanding learning” by Han Fei.His moral education philosophy such as “universal love”,“non-attack” and “economizing”and moral education theory like “choose the most important to undertake”,“follow the example of their superiors”,and “Theory of Dyeing” are crucial to the history of moral education in China.In this thought system,“universal love” is the hub of Mozi’s thought,which initiated Mozi’s thought system of moral education.Mozi’s thought was established on the basis of the interests of small producers in the Spring and Autumn and Warring States period,In view of the social,political,economic and cultural background at that time,so his moral education thought was easily accepted by people and imposed a profound influence on the Chinese civilization society in the next two thousand years.Mozi’s thought of moral education has been deeply ingrained into the spirit of the Chinese nation,while under the backlash against all kinds of contemporary trends of thought,Mozi’s thought on moral education has shown a conspicuous trend of weakening and even a tendency of alienation in some aspects.This paper,in the combination of Mozi’s thought of moral education with the background of the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period,interprets and delves profoundly into Mozi’s thought of moral education so as to realize the limitation and rationality of his thought In the socio-political,economic and cultural context of the time.In addition,the author will explore the contemporary value of Mozi’s moral education thought and realize the innovation development in the integration of the the moral needs of today’s society and in the way of absorbing the essence and taking away of dross.Therefore,the study of this topic has theoretical and practical significance for enriching the content of moral education and advocating the construction of socialist core values.In the past ten years,due to the rapid development of society,a series of moral problems have arisen.The rich moral education thought in Mozi’s thought urgently needs us to dig out and sort out.From the existing research results,the research on Mozi’s moral education thought is not systematic and in-depth,and the limitations and contemporary value of Mozi’s thought are not thoroughly analyzed and discussed.In this paper,Mozi’s moral education thoughts are carefully divided,and the intrinsic essence of Mozi’s moral thought is deeply analyzed from the goals,contents and methods of Mozi’s moral thought.The contemporary value of his moral education thoughts is deeply excavated,and his excellent moral thoughts are merged into the ideological and political education,so as to provide a powerful reference for the development of modern ideological and political education.This paper is divided into six parts,the first part is the introduction,explicating the research background,research status and significance of the topic;In the second part,starting with the background and theoretical origin of Mozi’s moral education thought,this paper briefly describes the social background and personal experience of Mozi’s moral education thought,and analyzes the theoretical origin of Mozi’s moral education thought;The third part mainly summarizes the theory of Mozi’s moral education thought,which includes three aspects: the goal,the content and the method of Mozi’s moral education thought;In terms of the fourth part,it expounds the historical evaluation of Mozi’s moral education thought;The fifth part is the key part of this paper.In this part,it analyzes the value of Mozi’s moral education thought to contemporary moral education,inherits and innovates Mozi’s moral education thought,and provides reference for the development of modern ideological and political education;The sixth part is the conclusion,which is a comprehensive and profound summary of the full text.On the basis of absorbing a large number of theoretical research achievements,this paper makes a thorough and composite study on the influence of Mozi’s moral education thought on contemporary moral education,and puts forward operable suggestions,which sets forth a reference for ideological and political educators.
