The Calligraphy Art Study Of Wang Yunfan

Wang Yunfan is a scholar who made great achievements in calligraphy,poetry,and inscriptions of epigraphy and stone.He used to be an apprentice to Xiao Xinyuan,Yang Cangbai and Zhao Xi successively.He were taught by Zhang Taiyan and Yu Youren;He also traveled with Xie Wuliang,He Lu,Huang Kan,Qiao Dazhuang and Zhang Daqian,and they sang poems together.He was good at cursive scripts and regular scripts,and had a large number of calligraphic works,manuscripts of poems and articles,comments and so on.He has abundant works,and the existing works includes Texual criticisms on Han Fanmin Monument,On Nine Hundred quatrains,Japanese chanting,Naohong Hall poetry,Seventeen Posts of Linyou Army in Naohong Hall,Continuation of Jiang Yaozhang’s Book,fascsimiling diffidation later of JiKang and ShanTao by Naohong Hall,etc.This paper summarizes Wang Yunfan’s life and achievements,learning experience and style of calligraphy,his calligraphy theory,his achievements in inscriptions of stone and inscriptions,and the analysis of his practice calligraphy after a model,Wang Yunfan’s artistic achievements are discussed,and his chronology is sorted out.
