In the Heilongjiang dialect, the verbs of "Chi" are abundant in number, prominent in features, frequently used in daily life and have unique expressive functions. The thesis takes the "Chi" verbs in Heilongjiang dialect as the research object and makes a comprehensive and systematic investigation on them. The thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, which mainly describes the origin of the topic, the current situation of relevant research, the research purpose and significance, the research methods and corpus sources. The second chapter is about the types of "Chi" verbs in Heilongjiang dialect. We classify the "Chi" verbs according to their most prominent features. It can be divided into five kinds of verbs,"Chi" verbs for different types foods,"Chi" verbs derived from a metaphorical approach,"Chi" verbs derived from a metonymy approach, generic verbs denote the meaning of "Chi" and subjective verbs of "Chi".We describe and explain every "Chi" verb belonging to every type. The third chapter is about the syntactic characteristics of "Chi" verbs in Heilongjiang dialect. We summarize the collocation of "Chi" verbs with subject, food object and tense auxiliary words "zhe" "le" and "guo",and sum up the elements that often co-present with "Chi" verbs, including the components that appear together with "Chi" verbs which denote subjective mass, subjective small quantity and subjective derogatory meanings. The fourth chapter is about the comparison between the verb "Zao" which denote the meaning of "Chi" and the verb "Chi" in modern Chinese."Zao" and "Chi" are both used in Heilongjiang dialect and can be interchanged in many cases, but there are always some differences between them.We compare "Zao" and "Chi" from three aspects of semantics, grammar and pragmatics, and summarize the similarities and differences between "Zao" and "Chi".The fifth chapter is about the pragmatic features and causes of "Chi" verbs in Heilongjiang dialect. The "Chi" verbs with abundant quantity and distinct subjectivity make the "Chi" verbs in Heilongjiang dialect present more specific and meticuloussemantic expression, more vivid language expression and more colorful pragmatic features of emotional expression. The special geographical environment, historical culture and social needs of northeast China are the main reasons for the "Chi" verbs' formation. The thesis starts with the meaning of "Chi" verbs in Heilongjiang dialect, and then discusses their syntactic features, pragmatic features and causes for formation.Next we make a comparative study of the generic verb "Zao" and the modern Chinese "Chi".The study is from comprehensive to individual. We hope the thesis to provide some references for the in-depth study of the verbs in northeast mandarin.
