Evelyn Waugh is the most outstanding satirical novelist in English literature in 20th century,his novel is impressive with its succinct and elegant style and individualized expression.In real life,Waugh suffers from anxiety and suffers disease to the fullest extent.And anxiety is closely related to his literary creation and even has a certain degree of influence on the theme and ideological connotation of his novels.Taking Evelyn Waugh's novels as the research object,this paper attempts to analyze Waugh's unique creative ideas from his life experience.And we explore and explain the anxiety consciousness conveyed by Evelyn Waugh in his novels.The analysis of anxiety consciousness in Waugh's novels is divided into three levels:the causes of the anxiety,the presentation of anxiety in his works and the writing strategies of his anxiety consciousness.First of all,with the help of psychological and philosophical research on anxiety,we take the form of reading the writer's letters,journals,autobiographical materials and novels to understand the path of Evelyn Waugh's life and the background of his time,and then we find out what caused Wohl's anxiety.Secondly,through the combination of text analysis and the creation background of novel,combining and analyzing the composition of the anxiety consciousness in Waugh's novels,we explain the anxiety feeling conveyed in his works one by one.Finally,from the perspective of narrative and expression,we interpret Evelyn Waugh's concept of literary creation and his writing strategy of anxiety.Through the background of the times,personal experience,creative ideas and the interpretation of his novel text and other multi-dimensional investigation and penetration,we complete the grasp of the anxiety consciousness in Waugh's novels.
