Since the rise of China’s new urban film in 2010,it has become a dark horse in the film industry with amazing box office earnings and received extensive attention from the industry.It shows the life of young people in modern cities,displays their emotional characteristics and psychological appeals,caters to the aesthetic direction of young people,and brings new values.This paper mainly analyzes the youth subcultural characteristics contained in the new urban film works,and discusses the reasons for the characteristics,cultural implications and the impact on social development and practical significance.It is mainly discussed from the following five aspects:Firstly,it defines the research object,delimit the research scope,analyzes the research status at home and abroad,research significance,main innovation points and research methods.Through the collection,collation and analysis of the literature,the research direction and objective conclusion of the paper are further determined.Secondly,the identity of young people impacted by various social trends of thought in the new urban films is confirmed and classified into three categories,namely "urban upstart","university graduates" and "ego group".The formation reasons and characteristics of these three types of identities are elaborated in detail.Through the discussion of the three themes of growth,love and loneliness,the theme and content of young people’s life in the new urban movies are mastered.On this basis,this paper analyzes the story plots highlighting self-publicity and ego in the new urban films,and accurately grasps the identity characteristics of the youth groups.Thirdly,through the analysis of the landscape and modernization of architecture in the new city film,the urban fashion characteristics are extracted.This paper analyzes the non-permanent characteristics of new urban films,and describes the new urban environment by means of collage,comedy and multiple narration.Fourthly,the new values of young people in the new urban films are discussed,and the values of young people in the new urban films are constructed from the three aspects of physical and spiritual desire,clear and positive self-consciousness and "stylized" label.Fifth,the new urban film and the real society are observed and analyzed,and the deficiencies of the new urban film under the influence of social environment,commodity economy and postmodernism are analyzed,and constructive Suggestions for its development are put forward.The author believes that the application of youth subculture theory can profoundly analyze the creation characteristics,creation rules and future development direction of new urban films from a novel perspective,and this research method and perspective can provide many references for the author’s future exploration and research in related fields.
