The issue of identity is a traditional issue of the West Square and the school. The traditional discussion of identity is mainly focused on the field of epistemology. With the shift of the focus of metaphysical research, the opposition between the subject and the object is transformed into a mutual relationship.Hegel introduced the concept of labor into the discussion of the issue of identity.Marx further developed Hegel's concept of labor and replaced Hegel's dialectical identity with the recognition of production practice.Habermas combs the development of traditional identity ideas and expands another world, the language world,on the basis of external world and social world.Habermas believes that modern society is a complex and pluralistic society, science and technology culture shows new forms of change, opportunities for crisis conflicts are strengthened, and people negate the role of pluralism in identity and itself.Based on the thinking of these real problems,Habermas discusses his modernity identity based on the theory of communication. The subject forms self-identity and collective identity in social interaction, and the relationship between the two is mutual.Religious philosophy in a pluralistic modern society has lost its role, thus enabling people to establish rational identity with universalist morality. We need to establish a consensus of mutual understanding,to establish the identity of the initiative and consciously,so that individuals can communicate without coercion, and reach consensus through dialogue. This way is not an illusory existence,we need to work together to create.Although the crisis caused by conflicts in the process is inevitable, the end result is peace and unity. It is necessary to explore its intrinsic essence for this ideal scheme of identity achieved through dialogue.Habermas' s theory of identity is based on his communication system and the complementary concept of the living world of communicative action. In the interaction, the knowledge is stored through the learning mechanism, and the ability to understand the external is obtained. The subject as an individual can only form his own rules if he is recognized by others.Through this identity,Habermas aims to show his position in the theory of communication.Habermas' s reinterpretation of identity reflects the new direction of the development of modern identity and the new problems. This paper attempts to form an objective and comprehensive analysis of Habermas' s theory of identity, not only seeing the utility of Habermas' s identity thought, but also seeing its shortcomings.
