The Comprehensiveness And The Peculiarity Of Yuhua's Novel To Live Under The Influence Of Modernism

To Live is one of the most famous novels of Yu Hua,a well-known novelist in modern China.The novel not only earns reputations for Yu Hua all over the world,but also symbols the transition of Yu Hua's writing style.Meanwhile,the creation and the propagation of the novel is under the influence of Modernism,which must be counted as a cultural environment in the study of the comprehensiveness and the peculiarity of the novel,and which assures the completeness of the study about the novel's literariness as well as the impact this kind of literariness can make on the world literature.For that purpose,this essay tries to study into the related research results so-far,and from which extracts five key words “avant-garde”,“new realism”,“new historism”,“folk literature” and “Taoism”,then,tries to define the literariness through the trace of these five words.Throughout the essay,this research is settled on the background of the Sino-foreign literature relationship,and on which this research breaks through the onefold viewpoint towards the novel To Live.As a result,by this research,this essay tries to make it clear the comprehensiveness and the peculiarity of To live under the influence of Modernism.Yu Hua is one of the most representative writers in modern China.It is typical of him in absorbing and reproducing the features of the western modernist literature.So,by studying Yu Hua's To Live as an example,this essay aims at further researching into the literariness of Chinese contemporary literature under the influence of Modernism.
