Study On The Modeling Expressiveness Of The Line In Meticulous Figure Painting

Throughout the history of the development of Chinese painting,the line runs through the beginning and end of Chinese painting because of its unique modeling expression means and becomes one of the most expressive modeling methods of Chinese Meticulous Figure Painting.In Meticulous Figure Painting,the line developed from the original germination period to the becoming of a main modeling expression mean,then to the establishment of the great expressive method of “18 Descriptions”(techniques of drawing Chinese painting)and later to the renewed combination and conciseness of the three-dimensional modeling of China and the West in modern times.The line,as an expression method in painting,has always developed vigorously with its strong expressiveness.With the great development of the times,the use and expression of the line are endowed with more rich and colorful connotations.No matter how the times change,the line plays an important and irreplaceable role in Chinese Meticulous Figure Painting.This thesis mainly discusses the modeling expressiveness of the line in Meticulous Figure Painting from four parts.Firstly,the development of Chinese Meticulous Figure Painting has a long history.In primitive society,there appeared patterns depicted by lines.Later,the use of lines in Meticulous Figure Painting reflects the unique and irreplaceable modeling expressiveness of the line through the innovations of artists in different times.Secondly,the thesis discusses the characteristics of the modeling expressiveness of the line in the development of the history of Meticulous Figure Painting.In the process of development and perfection of Meticulous Figure Painting,the line,as one of the most important expression means of modeling,occupies an extremely important position from beginning to end.Both the power beauty of “Gufa Yongbi”(a Chinese drawing technique of using brush pen)and the form beauty of “18 Descriptions”(techniques of drawing Chinese painting)are the unique manifestation of modeling charm of the line.Thirdly,the development of the contemporary Meticulous Figure Painting not only inherits the advantages of traditional line,but also firmly combines with the western tone characteristic of light and dark,and expands discussion by the interpretation and analysis of the works of famous artists,which makes the connotation of the line richer and more colorful.Then the line won't be limited to the traditional expressions and it accord more with the value standards of modern aesthetics.Fourthly,on the basis of detailed analysis,induction,classification and summary of the first three parts,combining with the practical creation of works,the thesis makes deep interpretations and explanations and makes the most conclusive discussion on the characteristics of modeling expressiveness of the line in Meticulous Figure Painting.This thesis mainly uses the methods of documentary evidence,illustration and analysis to discuss the modeling expressiveness of the line in Chinese Meticulous Figure Painting from different angles and levels.
