Writing is an important part of English teaching in senior high school.With the continuous deepening of the curriculum reform,English writing teaching is increasingly renovated.In order to be in line with the era of new technology,the Standard of English Curriculum claims the combination of education and modern technology.Inspired by the Automated Essay Scoming(AES)system abroad,domestic scholars have developed an advanced AES,which is suitable for Chinese scholars and is widely used in writing research.The present thesis first made a.comprehensive literature review of the studies on AES at home and abroad.Then based on the modern English teaching theory,including Process Writing,Attention Theory,Input Hypothesis and Output Hypothesis,self-efficacy concept and"Internet +,theory,the thesis aims to verify the validity of the Reading to Write Based on Pigaiwang.Through the means of empirical research such as testing,questionnaire and interview,the main research questions of this paper are:(1)Is the scoring result of the Pigaiwang reliable?(2)Can the use of the Pigaiwang in English writing improve students’ writing ability?(3)Can the use of Pigaiwang stimulate students’writing motivation and improve self-efficacy?The study found that the use of Pigaiwang can accurately reflect the level of student achievement,effectively improve students’writing skills,and enhance self-efficacy and writing confidence.On the one hand,Pigaiwang evidently improves writing performance.On the other,it has a significant effect upon advanced vocabulary,vocabulary richness,the average length of words,the average length of sentences and the number of clauses.However,its feedback on the structure and content of the texts is not yet accurate and effective.Therefore,AES is only a teaching aid which cannot replace the important role of teachers in teaching.Results found in this thesis provide a valuable data to verify the efficient use of such a tool in senior high school.Besides,the teaching mode of Reading to Write Based on Pigaiwang gives a inspiration to other researchers.
