Survival Dilemma And Spiritual Breakthrough

This thesis takes Xu Xu's novels in Hong Kong as the research object,but it does not intend to separate the author's previous novel creations from Hong Kong's novels,but to relate the author's experience and spirit to explain The creation is linked and placed in the framework of the 20th century literary history to explore the intrinsic value of the novel creation in Hong Kong.On the contrary,this thesis attempts to analyze Xu Xu's works by relating the author's life experience and the historical background.And the purpose of the research is to reexamine Xu Xu's achievement in twentieth century Chinese literature history.There are five chapters,an introduction and a conclusion in this thesis.The introduction part demonstrates the theoretical basis of this study from four aspects:the current evaluation and research of Xu Xu in academic circles,the research summary of Xu Xu's novels,the research methods and basic ideas of the thesis.Chapter one mainly analyses Xu Xu's self-exile in a foreign country,resorts to the imagination of his native place in the novel,and after the collapse of his utopian spiritual home,the author returns to the spiritual state of wandering and recaptures his self-quest.In Chapter two,the author wakes up from his illusion.Then he reenters the real city and observes the two city Shanghai and Hong Kong with a sharp eye,find that the bright city has not been illuminated by the light of the corners,with exquisite brush strokes to draw a variety of forms of alienated human groups,in Hong Kong's cramped space.The third chapter continues the topic of the second chapter,and further explores the most serious loneliness symptoms in the urban population,as well as the individual's ultimate loneliness survival choice in order to escape temporary loneliness when the symptoms occur.Xu Xu is considered to be a pioneer writer,with his thematic concerning ranging from the imagination of his native place,the re-description of modern cities,to the reflection on the real life of the mainland in the 1950s-1960s.Chapter IV reconsiders Xu Xu's novel creation from the perspective of pioneer narrative techniques.Prospective,avant-garde,creative,and under this avant-garde narrative technique,deconstruct the spiritual world that the author built for himself in the novel text.The world Xu Xu created for himself in his novel is full of philosophical thinking about life.This world contains multiple religious spirits,Buddhist,Christian and Buddhist.The fifth chapter starts from this and explores the spiritual world.Xu Xu himself ultimately reached under the support of these religious spirits.In the conclusion part,starting from the value of Xu Xu's novel to the development of Hong Kong literature and the continuation and compensation of mainland literature in the same period.This thesis explores the significance of Xu Xu's creation,and based on the above,the summary and evaluation of "the great masters of the twentieth century".
