Research On University Theater Positioning

With economic growth of China,the state has increased its investment in education and paid more attention to culture.Being an important part of education and campus culture,theatre in university has received more and more attention.Theatre in university has its own distinct characteristics,with its audiences,users,functional uses and other aspects different from social theatre.At present,research about theater mainly focuses on three aspects: theatre building,operation management and later use after completion,little related to social theatre research,leading to the situation that practice is prior to theory.Many problems arise inevitably,such as unclear orientation of theatres in university,homogenization of development trends,coexistence of inadequate functions and idleness due to unclear orientation,and inconsistency between development mode and orientation.Orientation determines the future direction of theatre development and resource selection and belongs to the field of superstructure.The orientation of University theatre is to clarify the connotation and characteristics of each university through the analysis of its internal and external environment,to form a differentiated development pattern among University theatres so as to influence students' cognition with the most representative elements,take the lead in their respective fields and promote the soft power of the university culture.Above all,basing on the background,this paper studies the orientation of university theatres,summarizes the reference points in the orientation of representative western universities theatres using the " Theory of Orientation ",and investigate students' satisfaction with the theatre in university to find out whether the current theatre in university meets the needs of students and measure the current situation of University theatre orientation from two aspects of internal orientation of theatre and students' orientation of theatre.This paper focuses on the analysis of theatre orientation in western universities and students' satisfaction with theatre,explore the principles and emphases of theatre orientation and put forward opinions on theatre orientation in university and universities,so as to provide reference for future Theatre Research in university and universities.
