His works are a mixture of strong romanticism and unique personality.Although his works have been influenced by Debussy,Medtner and Rachmaninov,they also have their own unique musical texture and harmony language.His creation has a very important factor,that is,the importance of harmony and semitone has been brought into full play.The emotions and connotations expressed in his works are closely integrated with these two aspects.In this field,Bowen's extraordinary creativity is fascinating.As a British composer,he also used many English folk music melodies,rhythms and other materials,making his works show the unique British leisurely,noble and gentleman atmosphere.
