Beijing Opera is a cultural treasure of Chinese traditional art.It has developed from the reign of Qianlong in Qing Dynasty to the present.It has undergone great changes with the vicissitudes of the times,from a typical highbrow art to a popular one,from being a craze to being of little attention.The inheritance of Beijing Opera after 100 years of prosperity has become the biggest problem facing the development of Beijing Opera Art.With the diversified development of media forms,new media have gradually integrated into our daily life.The entertainment mode is showing a different trend,which makes Beijing Opera gradually become a intangible cultural heritage,and the problem of audience "aging" is gradually emerging.Therefore,if we want to make Beijing Opera develop steadily and well,we must perfectly understand and make a good use ofthe relationship between the inheritance and development of Beijing Opera.Watch and Inheritage is a feature documentary which explores with the watch and inheritance of Beijing Opera Art by recording the life stories and learning experiences of three Beijing Opera actors of different ages and identities,aiming at studying the problems faced by modern and contemporary Beijing Opera artists in the development and inheritance of Beijing Opera:with the gap and loss of the audience as well as the gradual aging of artists,wheather Beijing Opera performers can firmly watch this ancient art under the evolution of modern civilization.This thesis elaborates the work Watch and Inheritage from four aspects.The first part is an introduction,which mainly elaborates the background and significance of the study.The second part is an analysis of the current development of Beijing Opera from the content and characteristics of Watch and Inheritage,which shows the current developing situation of Beijing Opera,Peking Opera artists' living conditions and the experience of learning Beijing Opera.The third part elaborates the shooting angle of the work Watch and Inheritage,briefly introducing the shooting process of the work from the three aspects of preparation before shooting,shooting details and editing after shooting.The fourth part focuses the emotions expressed in the work Watch and Inheritage and the desired effects,as well as points out the central idea of the work.Compared with the development of Beijing Opera in Beijing,Tianjin,Shanghai,Hunan,Hubei,etc,the situation in the northeast area known as "Guanwai" is different.The performers and fans of Beijing Opera here have great difficulty in keeping watch and inheritage.The work Watch and Inheritage forms a progressive relationship from the perspective of watch and inheritance,narrowing the distance between people and Beijing Opera art,showing the watch and love of the older generation of Beijing Opera artists as well as the inheritance and development of the younger generation of Beijing Opera art.From the daily life of Beijing Opera artists,this documentary records their efforts and persistence for Beijing Opera in this land which is not popular with Beijing Opera art.
