Study On The Application Of Contingency On The Creation And Aesthetics Of Literati Painting

Modern art has changed from the previous art of reproduction to the concept of painting with the core of expressionism,thus inducing the birth of contingency applications in the field of painting.However,the use of contingency in painting did not start from now.The transition from the original Dan Qing realistic school to the ink-and-water ink painting school was the emergence of performance-based painting creation.The literati paid great attention to express their own inner feelings as well as painting process and called it "the ink play." Influenced by Chinese traditional philosophical thoughts,literati painters respect nature as the concept and believe that the highest realm of painting is “Coincidental interest” which can be achieved by incidental phenomena.However,there is no pure contingency and paintings created by contingency have no profound meaning and are not successful.A successful work requires painters have abundant natural experiences,artistic cultivation,and superlative brush skills by reading thousands of books and taking thousands of miles.The artists should maintain the“unintentional meaning” as his creative state and create their own “Coincidental interest”works from their hearts.Therefore,this article is mainly from three aspects.The first chapter mainly talks about the connotation of contingency and the historical background of contingency.The second chapter mainly discusses contingency from two aspects of creation and aesthetics,including related artists and representative works;The third chapter mainly explores how the painter views the relationship between Coincidental creativity and necessary efforts in the creation of paintings,and how to grasp and use all the Coincidental factors for our use;The limitations of contingency in painting will be discussed in the last chapter.Conclusion: "contingency" is not only a favorable factor for painting creation in theliterati painting,but also an "unintentional" aesthetic criterion.Contingency has an important influence on the creativity and aesthetic pursuit of literati paintings.The simple contingency is the work that can not be achieved by coincidental interest.For the unintentional effect needs the daily basic training as the support,and the accidental creativity and the inevitable efforts complement each other.In order to achieve coincidental interest,Aesthetically,literati painters pursue the naturalness,Out of the unintentional aesthetic criteria,they pay attention to the unification of meaning and law,contingency and necessity,pen and ink in painting creation.
